Why choose Safely Home and Services
Whether anybody talks of it or not, nobody wants to spend their last days of life in a hospital surrounded by doctors and nurses. Everyone wants their family members, relatives, and loved ones beside them. For a minute, think of yourself, could you imagine spending your old age days in a hospital while doctors and nurses tell you the countdown of your life?
Can you live in a physician's laboratory with no one around to talk to? Well, let me guess, you don't, and it's not just you. Like you, 9/10 Americans 65 years and older want to stay at home. Your seniors want to live with you, hoping to spend some time talking with you.
Seeing you around makes them more comfortable than a doctor's visit. That's why it becomes a major need to choose home care services at old age. Here is the story of my life that inspires me to start a healthcare agency.
The inspiration that started the Homecare agency
Every journey needs a motivation to begin. It can be anything, a person, place, or thing. For me, it's my loving sister who taught me critical lessons of life. I was born to a pastor's family. In my family, we learned that serving others in pain is the true meaning of life. My sister was ten years older than me and guided me through every phase of life.
She was a warm-hearted person full of life and joy. At a young age of 10 years, she found out that she has a disease called neurofibromatosis. It is a rare disease that causes tumors in a person's head and spinal cord. Despite knowing this bitter truth, She was full of bliss and charm. As far as I remember, I have never seen her in any kind of misery. She never complained about life.
My sister, "My mentor":
When I got old enough to understand my sister's critical situation, I realized that she is the most energetic person I have met in life. No matter how many times she got in and out of medical surgeries, she never griped. She always used to say that "As long as you are with me, I will defeat my illness." Every time I heard those words from her, It gave me the encouragement I needed.
But what is written in destiny can't be changed. Medicines and doctors can help us buy more time than usual. All we can do is reduce their pain by taking care and spending time with our loved ones. At a young age of 36, destiny took its toll on my sister's life.
A severe heart attack (ischemic stroke) hit her, and the life of our family never remains the same. That one person who was full of life is now on the support of medical equipment. I have seen her inability to speak.
The cheerful and enthusiastic lady is now calm and lying peacefully on a bed. It becomes unmanageable for her to get out of bed, bathe, or dress. Half of her body got paralyzed, and she couldn't feed herself. Those were the circumstances that broke her inner mind though she always smiles at me to prevent me from feeling grieved.
Turning Point:
Despite all of her sufferings, our Mom decided to take her home as she was worried about the quality of care and attention she’s receiving. Our aged Mom worked hard to give ever care to my sister, though it was a bit difficult managing her health condition. I couldn’t provide much assistance either as I was out of town due to my job. All I could do is mourn and pray for the good health of them both.
Having enough feelings of remorse, I took a bold step and contacted a healthcare agency to assist Mom in taking care of my sister. The result was excellent as it proved to be a massive relief for both of them.
Now my Mom has more time to spend with her daughter. In the time saved, She now talks to her, reads to her, and sometimes sings. After seeing this, I, too, was relieved from the burden of not doing anything. The caretaker was also very supportive, both morally and physically. This made my sister feel more comfortable, and her happiness gave a massive relief to Mom.
When I saw how it changed my family's life, I realized that caregiving is a crucial need in society.
It gave me a reason, inspiration and confidence to take action. I then decided to start a home care agency to help those in need like my sister. My loving sister, during her illness, taught me the most important lesson of life.
Now when she is in her real safe home in heaven, I give my best to make people feel safe here on earth. I learned from my sister's illness that it is the opportunity that God gave me to realize my objective in life.
Whenever I see anyone in need of care, I find memories of my sister and the valuable lesson she taught me. I am not discussing business here; all I am telling you is that It's the emotions, values, and sentiments of my beloved sister that drives me to take care of anybody in need.
